2011 British Grand Prix - Results

Posted on July 10, 2011 at 2:09 PM

The Pretence Is Over

Red Bull has always maintained that they have no team orders, their drivers are free to race each other, yet in a race for a few points that would mean very little to Sebastian Vettel but could mean a great deal to Mark Webber, the latter was told to stop racing and let Vettel have the second place that Mark had earned on merit. I guess it just proves what the fans have known all along, Red Bull has one rule aabout racing when Webber is le...

2011 British Grand Prix - Qualifying

Posted on July 9, 2011 at 3:07 PM

Some get it right, some not so much.

I had started an editorial on the blown diffuser debate but half way through, Mark Webber gave a statement which covered all the points I wanted to make however qualifying was to see a bad joke become a running gag as the the official stance on the ruling changed faster than the weather. The final word seems to be, 'We don't know what we're doing so maybe we will let everyone else decide for us.' (Not necessari...

Posted on June 29, 2011 at 11:54 AM

After the exciting Grand Prix Du Canada and a well deserved best to date finish of eighth place, Jamie was off to Hong Kong for the Red Bull Dragon Run. There he drove the Red Bull show car in front of a crowd of more than 43,000 enthusiasts. After enthusing about the city and the car, Jamie was kind enough to answer some questions for the Log Book. When asked what it was like to get some seat time in the Red Bull car, ie. how it compares to the Toro Ross and does this mean he is being groome...

Valencia Spain

Posted on June 27, 2011 at 7:21 PM

After the excitement of the Canadian Grand Prix, Formula 1 shifted to Valencia for an abrupt change of pace. Reporting from around the world has pretty much been limited to commenting on this being the dullest race of the year so far. I shan't add to this, to the results then:

Mixed Day For Canadians At Bucyrus 200

Posted on June 26, 2011 at 3:38 AM

Overall Canadians faired well at Road America with 4 drivers in the Top 10 but Ron Fellows finished 2nd after it was thought he had won the race. In addition, Jaques Villeneuve (3rd place) was involved ion an accident that ruffled some feathers and J R Fitzpatrick rounding out the top 10 was thus unable to improve on his 7th place finish of a year ago. Nonetheless it was a solid performance for the Canadian contingent which included a 6th place finish by the talented Andrew Ranger. Villeneuve...

What Do Race Drivers Do During A Red Flag Period?

Posted on June 21, 2011 at 2:48 PM

In Canada we saw a lengthy red flag period where the cars were parked for almost two hours. What do drivers do to pass time when faced with such long delays? During a Red Bull interview, Mark Webber says he made a phone call, the topic? Dogs and the  weather. Truly, these people lead lives the rest of us can only dream about. Just one more example of why it is so difficult for anyone to not like Mark Webber.
